Overview and Process
At the start of the 2020 pandemic, local markets and shops have struggled immensely trying to keep their businesses afloat. After a year of adjusting to new norms during the pandemic, these local markets are still in need of an alternative and effective way to have their local customers shop with them. In the city of Toronto, residents are actively searching for a way to shop locally while maintaining health and safety procedures. Our solution is to create MarketTO, a mobile application that can help Toronto residents shop their local markets (i.e. food markets and craft markets) during this ongoing pandemic. 

MarketTO will provide an effective solution for residents who are unable to commute, want to maintain a certain budget, and for those still interested in supporting local shops in the city.
Purpose and Goals
To have MarketTO be a reliable and accessible service for shoppers in the city of Toronto who want to support their local markets.  And, create a successful project plan to help provide Torontonians with awareness of this service. 

As the app was initially focused on accessibility during this pandemic, this service can continue to be used as an available method for anyone unable to commute to local markets due to personal reasons, health concerns or a busy schedule.

As there are other competitors within this space, this concept is still relatively new, and we aim to have our app be the first go-to method for local residents.
Project Management Method and Workflow
The project management method and workflow style that is best suited for the development of the MarketTO app is the Agile method. 

With the continuous analysis of how consumers interact with the app and the ability to respond to their feedback with the software, the Agile method is best suited for MarketTO. Aligning with the 12 principles of Agile, the app’s main purpose is to create a platform that allows consumers to feel comfortable while making it easier for consumers to shop for items. 

Our highest priority is satisfying the consumer through the delivery of the software. The agile processes promote sustainable development.
Using Trello, a Kanban board has been implemented to display the agile project management workflow of MarketTO. The board serves as a way to help visualize the plan, manage work-in-progress and maximize the overall project efficiency. 
Target Audience and Persona
The app’s primary target audience is focused on adults and families, followed by our secondary audience of post-secondary students.
